I found this quote, “Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.
― Edgar Degas”

And found I can relate.

I spent many years learning how to make art with a camera. Found inspiration in the works of others, but, the work was of the others, and not my own.

I practiced to make what I saw in others art, somehow my own.

Not until a recent show at the Parkwood Gallery in Toledo, Ohio, did I make art that connected with others and then became my own.

Others saw and commented that they felt connected and reminded them of a memory or place.

I’m grateful.
